Prioritize Peace, Prosperity and Wellness

This is not about toxic positivity or self help addiction. Believe me, I've probably been there in the past. There was a time when I spent thousands of dollars on books devoted to self development, positive psychology and new age religious beliefs. I desperately wanted wholeness. I desperately needed to be healed and I certainly felt broken. There were a few things I needed to learn and one of those is that with time and experience life is a master teacher.

So much of the angst I felt was actually normal and a part of the developmental process: Learning to navigate relationships, career and making decisions about what I wanted my life to look like.

The greatest gift is understanding that we do not travel this life alone. None of us had a say in choosing to be born. We all have a creator and whether you call that creator the divine one or the universe, He takes an active interest in helping you achieve the greatness that is inside you. It is a greatness that takes time to develop, master, foster and then birth. The greatest fertilizer is actually peace.

A lot of people believe that adversity and struggle brings out greatness. Its true, it helps actual minerals. But we are human beings. Stress and prolonged stress affects our bodies and our minds. Learning to tune in to the stillness, appreciate the quiet, and tune out the drama can allow us to find out who we are, where we are going, as well as what we need to do. We can begin to hear our own voice as well as God's. We will find a true rest and ability to achieve things more effortlessly bringing synchronicity to our affairs. When we see how things align themselves, it is easier to choose wisely.

As Black women we have such a rich history but often we don't highlight our peace, prosperity and wellness. I am so glad we are starting too! Black Girl Luxury, Black Women Soft Life are all appeals to the peace, prosperity and wellness that we so richly deserve. Daily, we should take some time for ourselves to allow stillness, have some form of self care, seek God through his word or meditation, and find ways to tune down the drama and chaos which may seek to call our attention and distract us from our higher goal of a richer and more rewarding life of wellness. Remember to carry good will in your heart towards your fellow sister as well. We each can heal each other!
